~*~
Others say what they would do
if faced with certain situations
But until they have walked in the others shoes
they know not their frustrations

The things that happen to one person
in the walk of life for them
Is filled with their own circumstances
so we should not offer advice on a whim

It is true that most people want to help
when another is troubled or disturbed
Though sometimes all we accomplish
is to get them overly perturbed

Please do not say you would do this or that
when you hear about anothers problem
At times people only need someone to listen
not others to help them to solve them

Being a good listener for others
is what we all need to be
If everyone would not give advice until asked
better friends would be you and me

The last stanza is so well done, and so true.  You definitely hit the nail on the head with this piece.

Dixie, I thought that you might like.
Sometimes I'm too fast to give my opinion on somebody
else's problems, when all they wanted to do was to
talk it out. And, sometimes, others are too quick
to give me advice. LOL

LittleOne, I'm glad that you "claimed" it.
Life can be so frustrating sometimes, can't it?
At times our friends (family) can be too helpful, can't they?
I know that most of them really think that they
are saying what they think is best for us, but
how do they know how we feel inside our hearts?
With love and hugs to you, Sue

(big angel hugs) Oh Ethel, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, just today on my last day of humanities class this semester, my professor seemed to feel broken-hearted as I was one of few who participated in discussions and felt it was her worst class she taught personally, and sensing she felt like crying, I told her how though that may be true, she touched at least one heart, mine, and that it was people like her who encourage my love of learning and I thanked her! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, if we listen to one anothers hearts, the world can sing with harmony, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Beautiful poem. Well written, excellent flow. Keeps the reader moving along with you. The content is also very insightful! how true others are far to eager to let one know, "if it were me, this is what I would do"  How I hate those words, for no one is me, and I am the only one responsible for the decisions I make. Thank you for an excellent read.
