desert flower looking for rain

night weaving

midnight, again
and i'm staring at
neon green numbers
blinking away the
minutes of my life
while spiders weaving
webs laugh
at the pacing

i made friends with one
talked about how my
story has been told a million times
by a million women
that we, those who wear the wounds
inside
are no longer heard
if we ever were

oh sure, i stand up straight
push my chin forward
and no one will ever
see me cry
for the past

but, there is one cluster of stars
who hold my secrets
and sometimes,
they do the weeping

star showers
washing away a day
filled with demons
who carry hammers
stained with my past

while i pace
    and spiders weave webs
and night, wears more of my whispers
than lovers.

I've been told that good writing can touch you.  Well, I was just grabbed and shaken.

What a feeling, evocative piece.  I loved it.

the_loner_23 ...This is very beautiful

one of the things i love about poetry is that each reader can hopefully take away something for themself when they read my work...though this was a painful piece for me...  i am glad that beauty was what you saw... thank you, very much!!
