~* Winter's First Kiss *~

In such gay abandon
with dripping lashes
so soaking wet in wonder,
she leaves her winter kisses
on gold and crimson ground
beneath dancing feet.

Her virgin beauty cloaked in
sparkling crystals
giggles and tickles
leaving no spot untouched,
or habitant untold.

All the while,
with excited misted breath
she darts through dark looming clouds
on summer’s warmed tanned flesh
causing fall color
to quiver and shiver.

Prematurely she
sets into preparation,
whispering frosty promises
to lay down a snowy sheet,
and crystal beaded quilt
to safeguard springs tender keep.

~* Look Out!Here she comes! *~

I had a dream last night
you came to me on silver wings of light
I flew away with you in painted sky
Was it real

I thank you so much for responding to this, as I was having fun with Photoshop trying to make her look like she was leaving winter as she ran (not to successfully but it was fun!)  Bundle up she is a coming that is for sure brrrrr (got my fireplace on here tonight and just loving it.)

Specifically liked the following:

"whispering frosty promises
to lay down a snowy sheet,
and crystal beaded quilt"

Beautiful imagery.

James Michael - bet you seldom see snow where you are, and here I am in a state of can't wait!  Thanks for reading.

Steavenr - thanks kindly for your comments, and so nice to meet you - that is what I love of this place, always meeting new folks all the time.

Wonderfully descriptive Sharon!  I really enjoyed the visuals in this. Knowing how cold it is here, I can see where you drew your inspiration from in this piece.  A crackling fire beside me would be a lovely thing right about now.

Best wishes and hugs from a shivering friend,
/Kit

Sharon...

Exquisite imagery...I enjoyed the feeling even if I know I'll never have "the real thing" down here. And, I love the image as well (isn't Photoshop fun?!?)  Thank you.

I better be careful what I wish for, those raindrops out there are getting slower and slower, and that means SNOW!  It is finally hitting us here in the West, and my knee says it is going to be one long, cold winter LOL.  Thanks everyone!
