Suddenly even the dusty blinds and tangled cords pause
when punishing me with your words tumbling into my heart in tacit breaths.

Swallowed like frozen pureed blueberries, stunned into chilled hurt,
drinking your last days you spoke to me. Colors fade but not your lips.

I bravely call you by name, remembering the raspberries you loathed
yet painted your desert sky the taste of my kiss, blushed red.

You prowled the damp, dark alleys when the early Spring winds tickled
your weary, battle scarred scents exuding the vibrant hush of a killer.

I forgot your favorite color as my blood streaked your teeth as you slaughter
me slowly, playing my wounded hobble, pouncing on tender flesh.

Now you sleep, tropical fruits lay at your feet. Slipping out into the
reddish dawn, I carry the raspberries like scar tissue after a season of drunk.

We have to shake this tired clown dance, dreaming where the lines cross
and you slip into your persona of happy face while smearing your melancholy on your pillow.

some can't

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Jesse, this sounds so sad, dearest friend, I hope all is alright as you certainly can tell when ones days ain't raspberry wine by the blueberry stained wrinkles under ones eye as if they feel they have to say the deepest goodbye! (sigh) This is wonderfully heartfelt, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jesse, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thank you Noah, no, I am a happy camper actually...I just love Raspberries.  And this is just a poem that I love exploring things.  Written to a poet I still enjoy.

Exploration? It was really well done...a lot of feeling in it.

Very strong imagery.  Thank you for sharing it.

I always thought "Raspberries" was a good title for a book.

Thank you Ice and Midnight...I am happy you enjoyed.  And Raspberries are just plain good.  I want that with my smoothie!

Hmmm, book title...
