Sitting on the porch
cars fly by
eating watermelon in the heat
its humid
sticky
the sky is neon green
the stars will fall tonight...

Once again sitting on the porch
there is no more breeze
the air is still

still sticky with sweat
from the humidity we breathe
heavy and forceful
our eyes widen to the sights we see

No more cars whizzing by
Just large rocks
from the earth's sky

We know we can't help it
so we sit and watch
no more cars
as we sit beneath the sky...

Sitting still
beneath the black sky
neon no more
just dark and empty

Looking at the stars
filled with love
and child-like wonderment
The watermelon has been eaten
refreshed and alive

We think of the universe
as we think of ourselves
believing in our hearts
that we aren't divide

Okay, ant...

First...welcome to PiP...it's a neat place.

Now...about the poem...your profile says CA...but, the poem has FL "smeared" all over it!  LOL  But, I sure did enjoy the imagery.

Nice first post...thank you. I will look forward to more.

I had a dream last night
