Saving Sundown

I've seen it and I've heard it a thousand times or two
I've watched you carry doubt in it's many shades
Those whispers of uncertainty lingering there under your breath
Are so much louder then any sound you've ever made...

My destination is anywhere that the breeze will move me
When on earth I only resided in a single place
So, if I can ride these winds now without any regret
Then, why should you ever have sorrowfulness on your face...

The night is a powerful weight on a soul still grieving
And, you're saving sundown to gather what should have been
But, if I can look at you with sweet understanding from where I am
Then, you must see the truth is our connection between us again...

You're saving sundown to find seasons you should have changed
When lying your head each night there isn't anything to be sorry for
Now, if I'm at peace with the home God's provided me with
Then, you must find the same kind living there in yours...

Yesterday I was taken and today I still remain in heart
And, some tomorrow will guide us together on through
Now, if I can find the path to a smile that is finally real
Then, just remember me and graciously wears yours, too...

The next time you're saving sundown and taking in any pain
Vision how I am now resting above that common rain
So, hold my hand, one in one, across the sky we once knew
And, when it falls don't allow those same waters to touch you...

It is delicious

I would love to see you take the words and make them them reverberate echoing ideas to break the sky

The next time you're saving sundown and taking in any pain
Vision how I am now resting above that common rain
So, hold my hand, one in one, across the sky we once knew
And, when it falls don't allow those same waters to touch you...

Still waters run deep, and you make me weep when your heart speaks this way.

Lovely poetry, Saunni~
