Pointing a finger his voice
still strong but a little shaky
I recall grandpa's story of...

the tree he planted for me.

He took my hand, down the lane
we went together.
As we walked along my grandpa said to me

See that that tree over there
flourishing leaves of green?

I nodded my head. As he spoke
and told me how it seemed like only
yesterday it was a young sap
planted from seed the day
I was born.

Like that tree I too have grown
older now, as I plant the seed
I smile looking to the heavens
above...

I rememember Grandpa.

A beautiful tribute to your grandfather,  who obviously cared a great deal for you.
This really is a week for all those good memories to surface, to take time out to say "Thanks"
A fine write, m'friend.

This is a very touching poem. I always find it precious when trees are planted for others, and the memories that those plantings carry. Sounds like you had a wonderful Grandpa, and I am sure he was smiling down from heaven as you wrote this poem.

Sometimes we have to follow a stronger voice, even if it's silent.

I smile looking to the heavens

and you are part of that heaven, the sky
all the wonderful things which make up life
you are warm rays of sun, the start of a new day, all woman who feels love in an incredible way...planting seeds for all who
reads, you are that smile all thoughts perceive.

Beautifully written, enjoyed
