I won't drink the wine you give
Confess I am to blame
Unless you gently take my hand
And whisper out my name

I won't take this silver cup
And drain it till it's dry
Unless you shed a tear for me
Unless I see you cry

I will not take your poison knife
And plunge it in my flesh
Unless you say you are displeased
That I'm at health and fresh

I don't intend to change my mind
And slit my wrist for you
Unless of course if you change yours
And say you love me too

So don't expect me to obey
Your every passing whim
Unless your icy eyes will flow
Allow me there to swim

So I will raise my banner
For your answers there to find
Of who I am and what I'll do
Unless I change my mind
