One Christmas, I did see a white one.....
It was years ago, when I was young...
a lot younger....
and lighter on my feet

A year when my little girl was really a little girl
and her Dad was in the Army....
young, too

I learned to drive in snow that year...
and learned to drive a standard shift car the same year...
I was afraid that I would slip and slide
on the ice and snow....
which I didn't...
But, I also learned to walk in snow that year,
something I had not had much experience at doing
being raised in Florida......

One day, I had my fancy new high-heeled boots on,
which I loved....
I was prissing right along on down the side walk
in a large city in Germany....
Being as proper as I could be....
when whoops....my feet went out from under me

There I was...right by myself...
sprawled right out there on the sidewalk...
on my rear end, with my feet in the air....
high-heeled boots, and all...

Since I was so much lighter on my feet....
than now.....
I was able to get up quickly, gain my composure
and priss right along on down the sidewalk...
pretending nothing had ever happened...

It was a fun time in Germany that Christmas....
building snow men and snowballs, and eating snow cream....
the year I saw a white one......

It was a very beautiful Christmas.....

Since 2000 I have chosen to live in Eastern Germany, leaving england...

I feel for the sore spots delivered from a walk in the snow... this year we have none up here in the north, but it might still come.

but....

Your verse describes things very well

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, I have never spent a Christmas in Germany (I passed through Frankfurt last summer on the way to Dublin) but it must be a beautiful place to have one with all the snow and tradition, yay! (kiss on cheek) Yay, I'm so happy you got to cherish a white Christmas, we have rare white Christmases here too, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

May you once more have that memory...but this
time....without the OOOOPS!

Nice write...a treasured memory, I am sure.
