Drifting in melancholy,
Sealed beneath a breeze of woe
Unteathered by the wreath and holly
Unfretted by the mistletoe.
Where is Christmas, day of days?
Where is the spirit of the season?
Where are songs of joys and praise
And reminders of the reason?
I do not feel it, like before.
I don't know where it went.
It is vacant from my door,
My Christmas spirit spent.
Perhaps my list seems to needy,
Or my yuletide spirit's gone,
But the season just feels seedy,
Wasted energy in the throng.
All I want is a reminder,
A spiritual present to light my way,
Perhaps I'll receive it, Christmas fire,
Perhaps will glow in me, Christmas Day.

Awww..if this is from your heart, I hope you find your Christmas..if you've written it as fiction, you have truly captured how a lot of people feel today. Well done!

Well perhaps if we could get devina or poetFemmeFatale back on here, my spirits would improve a bit.  Good to see you're still here though PdV.  Thanks.

Even though this is sad, it is still written beautifully. There are many who feel this exact same way.

I hope that you get in the Christmas spirit soon.

Hey Robert! So nice to see you again! That Christmas spirit can be illusive, I know. It'll catch you though!
