Ceiba, Eyes & Mystery

The tree of life stands straighter than all,
indeed, that it does
not only in legend, but those that resound
in even one’s day to day today

but for some unexplained reason, the photo taken
of the Ceiba did not evolve, perhaps because, may be,
too much life field forced an unblinking pause,
as to ask
Who are you?
and humbled, my own mind’s eye
shall have to see through to the green…

as did this eye in the face of the face,
see through and beyond to tomorrow, who knew
or did they know all along
that this ancient ruin would inhabit life
some 17 centuries forward,
then the thought,
walk the rocks and miss my soul
the eye upon you, so old,
so feel the source of mystery
see why it portends such misery
here the conquerors tried some souls
still, their silent mystery holds

then Konrad spirited me toward another eye
of a living creature in the bold
and still I stood, letting phantoms dwell
for I was taken into their spell
and felt the path beneath my feet
feeling the caste of blood lines beat
as in hearing words of ages past
leaned into the heart’s blood fast
and I felt me walk again
absorbing all, as I did, then…

later, when away from land
the waving roll of ship below
my own mind waved between the beat
of what was real
and what was heat
for I had seen the mesmerize
of greens beyond forgotten eyes
of the growing ceiba tree,
of all that is, as all shall be

and in the growing dim of light
before the stars would come this night
I heard again the sounds that we
face in force of reckon,
this chemistry…

Will you come with me, shall you dare?
where the voices still live
on thinnest air?  I am but a fantasy
yet Dana lives, her spirit, free,
and she has worked the ages fine,
and from the green, again carved time
to let your feet stand where the light
shall find your face,
and see your sight
for you shall stand where I once roamed
where paths are found
in certain foam

Can you imagine
the full of this thought?

Feel this tear swell
as an imagination is caught.

Lots of good thoughts you bring to mind Karilea.
Your creative inspiration is brilliant,
and seems to be a mix of emotions and
all the right stuff that makes
a poem worth pondering, as I shall.

Beautiful work, I enjoyed this for so many reasons.

The last two lines (of the poem) summed up what has taken hold of your pen.  Inspiration at it's purest...

the imagery and vision in all of these are so very cool Kari...even before you actually went there...you were painting the scene with your words...I am so happy that you got to go and see it thru your muse's eye.

this and all your stories are a profound witness of life and all it's mystery, beyond the human mind, where we sometimes stumble and/or are given such gifts...Sunshine, you are not only an outstanding writer but a gift of picture taking...many thanks and much appreciation for sharing these experiences with us.
