where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2003-09-30 11:39 PM

In the summer's end
right before the first snowfall,
crisp in the center of autumn..
I planted a single seed,
that wouldn't see light 'til spring.

Here I am, in debt to winter,
dawn's light lessens in color..
The sun takes it's vacation..
I breathe simple breaths that thrust
like smoke before me..

All inside of me, like this bit of warmth
soon disappears..it seems
that exhaling
was all for nothing..
The sight of proof that I'm living
no longer excites me
as once, it did.

And then, just as raven's never seem to flock
to a climate of heat..I feed
them, the cannibal bird,
the wing-ed sacrificer..I hold no grudge.
For, whilst myself lies in patient judgement,
in circles this life spins..
I will re-live this chill all over again,
this pain will pass but never end.

But
in some consequence, I've reached
an understanding..
I've watched the ice crackle
beneath innocent's foot
and took fate out of my palm..
let the black gems slip
off my tongue.

I am not at fault for
      what is meant to be
      I can no longer show
      the sky that it's home
      to millions of shining gods.

And I...
cannot beckon away
the raven that digs for my seed.

I cannot stop him
from swallowing spring.

(sigh) Very true, but then if you were the raven, would you really like to swallow it up? Ravens can be a lot more persuasive and modest than we can imagine, sweet friend, they may be much like ourselves to a geat extent, God Bless You, all you throw away makes nutrients for something else, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Meghan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Ok.  That's enough.  I would make a humble request that you please either clone your muse, dear, or send his cousin.

I am deeply impressed, and this is firmly ensconced in my library...

dumbfounded silence, just like dix.

Very powerful and in the same time touching words!
Seeds usually are many .... so even if the raven finds one ... Spring will be again blooming in your heart.
