Inspired by the song,
"Comfortably Numb"
by Pink Floyd

Where Have the Ponies Gone?

Reign, I
hold with grip of age
in gaze
upon suspended ride
forgotten gallop,
forgotten glide of

Pretty pink ponies
painted in
pastel pallette

Carousel colors,
conjured
in days before

E=MC squared and
pi was defined

Before black and white
clotted my mind

Before pigments
faded to figments
in serene saline

And years

Slowed me to march in place,
with tighter grip of reign for
fear of elder fall from grace
and Novocain sane

“The child is grown; the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.”
-Pink Floyd

Yep...parents have to do
the B&W stuff...even when
shades of gray persist...

Excellent writing...and I think you met
Meghan's wonderful challenge all the
way around!

(big hugggsssssss) Every one of us has to go through hallways of black and white I feel, the first 12 years of my life were like this and almost feel like "Comfortably Numb" in rewind! Now, I have grown but see the world in color and have my child singing deep in me still! (sigh) This is powerfully poignant, sweet friend, God Bless You, you have said one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

ahhh Patricia
My favorite album and tune
my anthem . . .

"When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am."

Beautifully done

Yeah,  who is that gal?  Wait....I think the
elegance of "Lady" is most certainly appropo
for this woman...  Yes,  most assuredly so.
And such pleasant eyes...

You have been inspired well....

Dang! I almost missed this piece.
You've captured a piece of REAL TIME with this, and penned another gem for my library. THANKS!
I love Pink Floyd, and just introduced my teenager a few weeks ago to THE WALL. We watched the DVD version together, and I wish all parents and teens would view this together at least once.
