The Beast is free

The Beast is free from his cage,
Echoing, his footsteps draw  near.
I know his strength, his fearful rage,
I tremble now ,transfixed with fear.

Do you know what it is to be without hope?
To sit on your hands when they start to shake?
To face each day knowing you cannot cope?
To count each hour as you lie awake?

I cling to my precious peace,
Stillness and silence I crave.
Only death can bring release,
Longing for a lonely grave.

And yet?
The choice of my end,
It cannot be mine.
Live must be lived :
One day at a time.

This Beast:The cause of my regression?
They call my Beast:manic depression.

Listening to every heart

Arthur, while I do not suffer this problem,
I have a daughter who does.  I can only pray
she is taking care of herself; I know enough
from the outside of it all, that it is a most
horrendous beast, indeed.

Thank you for taking care of yourself...
and thank you for sharing.

Dear Michael...
Such a difficult topic for you to write about.
I am so proud of you for getting this onto
paper and also perhaps letting other know
who read this, and may suffer from the same condition,..
that they are not alone.
Very well expressed my friend.
Write it out...I've found it really helps.

WOW..This made me want to surf the web, and look up to read about this. Sorry you are having to go through these things. Wow...I can see you are very courageous not to write about so much.. as to live with it, and face it head on. Thank you for sharing this. I am going to read up about this.
Love,
Shara~

Arthur, I am so glad that this poem was bumped back up so that I didn't miss it. You have written a very personal part of your inner being here, if it is about you. If it is, I can only imagine what it took for you to write this....to share your problem this way.

I have some things inside that happened in my past that I wish I could write more about. Writing seems to help release those feelings. I hope that it helps you with this "beast".
Heart hugs to you
