From the Cure's Lullaby and a whole bunch of personal upheaval of late.

Lullaby

What awful hollows
will you shoot for today?
What creeping plans
do you need to instill --
using a small voice,
as seductive and surprised
as my own.

Will you crawl onto the bed
and learn to sleep?
Tell me, will you sweat out
the sweet secret
of dying?

There is no secret here.
These windows are locked.
The roses can't get in
through the screen.

Scent means nothing
to glass.

Tell me, when you knit
your corpse clothes,
do you select
a special thread
interlaced with poison,
so to cause colors
in the sight of the bereaved?

Or do you just go for the kill?

Either way,
my awful hollows are filled.

And I must thank you,
again and again,
for the beauty of your lullaby,
cocooned in deathly silence.

So thank you
again
for your silence.

Well, gemma zeroed in on my fave lines, but they are too good to not repeat again and again:

"Tell me, when you knit
your corpse clothes,
do you select
a special thread
interlaced with poison,
so to cause colors
in the sight of the bereaved?

Or do you just go for the kill?"

Awesome.

Thank you. At this particular point in time, I'd like to crawl into bed and be buried in sand.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Michael, this is wonderful, sweet friend, I love The Cure, they have some of the most idiosyncratic rock in all rock and roll I love, and if you have The Cure DVD video collection, their videos truly inspire me so very much. "Wrong Number" especially gave me semi-nightmares, with the carnie worker and dancing man in the grey suit! LOL! (smiles) This is wonderful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
