these lights are paling,
broken as the distance
slipping away into the sky.

an angel’s distorted reflection...

things that used to meet at the edges,
they’ve worn into miles and miles of earth,
a smell that lingers, grows
and fades.

people change with time.

blinking the darkness from my eyes...

when you spoke,
it was a song,
desperate and beautiful.

these notes linger,
they keep me sound.

memory-
I am holding on.

:::…sorry for the person who wrote this. he/she are so talented and I tried. heh…::

I'll let some more people guess.

Well, Wind.. Whomever it may be, you've done well.

And yes, you should break the rules.. that's what they're there for.

Hiya Wind!
Happy that you took the challenge.
The real challenge here was to stretch yourself...look at things from a different viewpoint, which is exactly what you've done.
All of us that have tried this, truly honor the one we "mimic", regardless of how sucessful we deem our effort.

All of the "challenge" poems are great writes on their own and it may be the nature of poetry to change with each reading. Though you've "written" someone else, the writer, in fact, was Liz.

Great job!

Words break into splinters on the pages I write

Love this Wind. Very well done. I am not very good at guessing who these poems are suppose to be. Lets face it...I am the new kid on the block and have not had the benefit of time to get to know that many styles yet. Still this sounds like gem and littlewing to me. The two are very similiar in style. No matter what the answer is though...I LOVE IT!
