Center stage, lights ablaze.  His thoughts
captured within the feminine mind that so
deftly is able to reach inside and delicately
withdraw  innermost secrets, desires
and fantasies.

Why, one might ask are they so adept at
the coercive powers of persuasion?  Might
it be a smile, a curve, a hand lightly touching
a knee or a slight but exhilarating glance
of heavenly charms cast to the winds of
his eyes.

Swirling, these thoughts, as pressure is
applied ever delicately, softly from a
voice that is but a zephyr across a grain
laden field. Wave after wave of sensual
feelings, vibrations sent to the core of
a man’s existence as he rises from
his knees...

Eyes that say to him, that beckon him
yet bring to him uncertainty upon the
thought of what might be other than
that was felt.....The male mind versus
the womanly psyche that confuses yet
seduces him....slowly, passionately,
as grapes are peeled effortlessly,
touching the lips.

Each morn brings the whisper of
a curtain’s shift,   the soft creak of
a spring as warmth flows over him.
His breath ragged, his hands nervous
in anticipation....his dreams flowing
in a clear stream of yearn, toward a
sea of sensuality....as the tides turn
toward the rising moon of her.

Barry,

I read this a few times as I often do with your poems...This is beautiful, it truly is.  I walked away, too, with the wondering if all men feel as you and are not able to express the words.  You would think some of the mystic of the opposite sex would disappear as we age.  It seems, in many ways, I am just as confused as I was 20 years ago about the male species.  Of course, I know each individual is unique (oh, wouldn't it be too easy if we could find a commonality, a guideline in the case of male-female relationships), but you left me wondering if deep inside these thoughts exist in every male.

Sorry for such a long reply...but I did so enjoy this poem and the thinking it evoked.

Patricia

I do believe that the feminine ability to
entice the male,  through many various means
and methods is a characteristic that was
born within thousands of years ago,  and has
become a refined art over the generations
and centuries.  After all,  love began when
life began,  and finding a mate, though
somewhat crude way back then,  was a
part of creation and still is.

Some women have the ability to attract without
being overly obvious about it.  Some men are
sensitive enough to see this and some are
able to take advantage of it in a way that
makes the woman feel special,  not just a
piece of meat hanging in the freezer or a
notch on the old belt of bedding.

I won't come out and say I am the perfect,
sensitive male.  I have made my share of
mistakes and eaten a few words from time to
time,  I am just learning and learning how
to express thoughts and feelings in a way
that is pleasurable to myself and anyone
who might read these little tidbits of me.

Wow, Barry!

How I've missed reading your beautifully romantic words. I just don't seem to have the time I once had to indulge in my love of poetry.  I recently began visiting an 83 year old lady in my new role as a volunteer and I am loving it.  It's so nice to read you again my friend and I hope all is well with you.

Take care.........Sue

I love the way you take my questions, and give me answers to draw upon.
Many times a man seems to forget the royalty of his birth, and too many times I woman forgets to stand her ground and remind him.
Always a treat to read you Mag. TD
