And

On slices of August moon I will dine,
And toss my wishes upon shooting stars,
I'll sleep beneath a western yellow pine,
And write duets for banjos and guitars.

In my sixteenth year I reveled in you,
And danced to the sweet sonnets of stardust,
But time gracelessly bid we say adieu,
And towards the uncertain we then thrust.

Now I'm skipping stones o'er recollections,
And painfully missing the warmth you gave,
These dog days are for naught but reflections,
If only the wrong choices I could waive.

And if I could undo this path I've walked,
I'd have kissed thee that night instead of talked.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

And,  if we were not born,  we might never
have been called a poet.  Well said Kevin,
your work is showing....
