Lonely Voyage

how do
I measure
your distance
it is
with words
breath and
an ocean’s tears
a riding
of salty
vacant tide
a hollow echo
back and forth
pushing and pulling
a heart
rolled in
to depart

"I am living a life, i have no wish to live. How did this happen?" Unknown

Oh my, what a spectacular write but so forlorn.

I am keeping this as it's so good! You are a wonderful writer

words adrift
seek beaches
to be counted
among the sands

but many languish
just offshore
and become
a siren's voice

What a pretty, pretty poem! I have a feeling your voyage will be only as lonely as you want it to be.

Never with miles, no, never that -- nor inches. Distance is only measured with the spirit, and as you say in heartbeats, our own or heartbeats of the earth. Compared to those, neither miles nor years have any meaning.
