Nature's Holocaust

Fires in rage
Seeking it's path
doing what comes natural.
Winds that help turn the page
bringing it's flaming wrath.
Bringing the face of fear
Of all material things lost,
but held so dear.
Not knowing
of it's sorrow
or the pain, the tears
Not knowing of the cost
it brings on the 'morrow.
It spears it's fingers to reach
To reach another branch
about to be victim
of this, natures breach.
A careless happenstance.
As innocent as a glance.
Mass devastation, lives are lost,
As flames, unaware, do their dance.
In this,
nature's holocaust.

Me, too. I can't imagine what it must be like to see all that you treasure as your home. The place that is your safe haven..where you raise your children and make memories is all in ruins. Sadness that dwells for a long time I would imagine. I think the only material thing I would miss would be photos. That is memories recorded that can never be brought back. Other material things can be replaced, but memories shared can't.

Thank you Seymour for reading and the comment. Hugs to you.

Terri~

Thank you Noah...I hope all this is over soon. I appreciate the read. Love to you!

Ecrivan...Yes I know it's a bad topic, but other people were writing about, and I kept seeing the images in my mind. It's ok for other people to write about this topic, but it's a problem when I do? Maybe some of us work out the bad by writing about it. It's not unheard of you know. I find it very strange when I write about things that aren't depressing I never hear a comment one from you.

I appreciate your words Noah for what these people are going through. My heart goes out to their loss.
Terri~

Thank you Hope. Sorry to hear that. I know Queensland is so beautiful. I hope all this stops soon. I know there are good things that will come from this when all is said, and done, but I just can't see it right now. Makes me really sad to see these people going through all this. :'(

Terri, your poem is so empassioned and real. You are able to impress upon the reader the absolute horror and devastation that the fires are creating. Your compassion for the victims really touched my heart. This is a painful subject to write about, but you have done it with sensitivity and in a caring manner.

Loving hugs,
Linda

The cycles of this planet are being turned upside down due to Man's intervention and carelessness....
IN a summer that was barely that for most of Ontarians,...
In British Columbia, this summer, a place where it rains more than not .... and a very moderate climate, fires rages out of control... the dammage was unspeakable... and now that same province is experiencing a deluge.... they could have used some of that rain 2 and three months ago... and California could use it NOW!!!  The Santa Anna winds are not so saintly right now.

Saying a prayer for everyone who has experiences a loss from these devastations....

Sherry

BTW.... well written, Teri... I just got a little off on a tangent there.
