Someone said
“To be just 5 minutes, inside your head.”
And I had to laugh
When those words I read…

For 5 minutes is but a moment
And then again a lifetime too
Would you see the minutes of chaos?
Or feel the blank stare as tired I grew?
Could you stand the passing sigh
Lost to you many years ago?
Is the thought of being shy
create surprise you had to show?

How about the ugly?
the apathy and disdain
That crawls around my waking mind
As I try to keep my sanity but end up being blind?
What about the fears of death and being found
To be such a hypocrite you would surely drown?

Could you stand the single thread
Once it was pulled so tight
That matter not the time of day
You obsess to do it right

Can the madness that is me
Be condoned within your heart
If you find that in the end
being devious is my art?

I think perhaps I’ll pass
On giving guided tours
For you’ll find no place in my mind
As interesting as YOURS

I believe it was I, Ron, who replied
to your last post with those words...
and, even after reading this,
the answer is still YES!
...I would.
But, no guided tour please...
just kind of let me wander...

Nancy... yes I knew who it was... ( chuckling) and believe me..it is a compliment..but then I thought again..what a nightmare for you to really see me as I am...

the self pity.. the greed, the lies, the things inside I hide..and try to put a face on...

scary... to think one might be found out...

hugs my friend... your compliment was taken as just that... a compliment and one of the highest order...

the poem.. my reflections on what would it be like to not be able to hide...

Ron~

This actually made me laugh...

Do you actually think you are so different from the rest of us?  We all hide the bad and ugly.  You, my friend, underestimate yourself and always have.

You are a wonderful man...a great listener and very, very forgiving...

I wouldn't want it anyother way...

(smiles) I too believe the most special blessing of all is to have a mind of your own, and though I agree with all you say, I too am amazed with all you write and I would love to always visit your mind! (big hugggsssssss) Just love your perceptions, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Heck, I'd settle for five minutes in my own head right now, if I could go there alone.....let alone one as fascinating as yours!

But what about those good five minutes...
when you are thinking of those sheer
shivers that you weave and leave behind
so well?

Oh how i love you. You never fail to make me laugh and feel so much sadness at the same time. I'd still take a walk around your loaf (head) but I think i'd take self defence lessons first. It sounds much like my own.

How did that song go "...a threeee-hour tour...."

I'd go for that (mine or yours or anyone else's) as long as I could be sure our tiny ship wouldn't leave us marooned anywhere!

incredibly written...my answer would be yes as well, we all have our hours of maddness, and silly little quirks....but love is love. And is not just felt when it's easy to love, but also when it's difficult...I believe those difficult times are what should draw two closer together????? But that's just silly ol me?

Good one!  Thanks for writing and sharing.

Hi Ron ... a fascinating poem and I too wonder whose head I would like to crawl inside. Hmmmm? Lots and lots of choices.

I hear you're coming our way. Unfortunately, I will not be available to meet with you .... darn it! Our daughter is having surgery when you are here. However, if you're ever this way again, please let us know.

I'll miss meeting you ... hugs, Marti
