My face was held tenderly in your hands Time stopped a tear dropped It caressed your being And you loved me more My chest heaved I gasped for air You whispered in my ear Evidence of you care Your whisper made rivers flow from my face You grabbed hold of me with haste In your arms I am wrapped so snuggly Sweet promises still coming from you Nothing said smugly Inside myself I fell My heart no longer whole but shattered Having been through torturous torment My appearance is grim For I am all beaten and battered Chances of survival seem very slim With one touch my mind was put to ease Your hand moved deep in my soul Jaded spirit You then reached down in my cold hollow hole It was there sorrow reigned On despair’s prevalent knoll Searching for satisfaction Completeness is what I need Fulfillment of joy and exuberance Is what you instilled in me indeed Adoring you, I acquiesce to your commands Never questioning your decisions I only wonder about your plans Gifts of comfort, lengthy steps of praise Hope leads the way As faith presses forward Through the dark and heavy haze That all passed by within two seconds, Reality’s time had not been clear to me My tears are no more I lift my head so I can see Your face does not scare me You insert a peace within No longer broken or hurting I thank you with a grin In two seconds your arms and hands held me close to you In one full moment you made me anew This battle is over, the war not yet done Thank you most adored one, for being my hero Shining brightly in the midnight sun ~*~Hope restores broken wings; faith helps us fly.~*~ |
