You may be a goddess in your world,
Now you have crossed over to mine.
For it is a world of dark alleys,
A place where the sun seldom shines.

Yours may have glittering castles,
Whose battlements gleam in the sun-
But mine is a place of stark shadows,
Where wary men carry a gun.

You come from a place filled with faeries-
As gentle and soft as your breath.
But I tread a jungle, a quagmire-
My constant companion is death.

My humor is dry as the desert-
The things I find droll may seem strange.
I laugh at life's little ironies,
And some people say I'm deranged.

And yet I must send you this message,
Lady, whatever you do-
Watch where you step, and watch what you feel.
For danger is waiting for you.

It's always good to have
someone watching out for us.
Enjoyed the rhyme and meter, John,
thank you!
