Incomplete

As soon as you told me
That my friendship was all you wanted
Memories were flooding through my head
But I couldn’t remember why I was so desperately in love
With you.

I remembered the day we talked for the first time
You weren’t the horrible person I thought you to be
You were funny you were sweet
But I didn’t know why I was so desperately in love
With you

After that things got complicated
One night I’d want to be good friends
The next I’d want you to hold me
And I never knew why I was so desperately in love
With you

Things leaked out as they always do
One friend slipped up and told another
You found out but you weren’t angry
But you didn’t know why I was so desperately in love
With You

And now you’re waiting for an answer
But now I don’t see why it matters
I’ll always be best friends

Yes, Just friends
With you
