I've tried to get a handle,
On the rage consuming me.
I tell myself it's senseless,
And wish I could be free.

But memories obsess me,
Of things you've done and said-
About how bad you hate me,
And wish that I were dead...

Words can be so painful,
And likewise tone of voice,
And yet we tend to say them
As though we had no choice.

Then bitterness consumes us,
And eats away our souls,
Only anger keeps us going,
As the storm about us rolls...

I ask myself, "Why bother?
Why don't you simply go?"
Perhaps a sense of duty-
Why else I do not know.

Oh you know we'll ask ourselves a thousand times more before we stop it. maybe we never will. why do i bother? because I care, no matter how much others don't.

the words stay don't they, and probably mean more than they were meant to.

sigh.  hugs to you.

Instant karma's gonna get you.

this was a very good write...let it all go, if someone really does hate you...well, sir, they have lost a great treasure in life and cannot see the forest through the trees...as love does not hate or wish bad things upon another.

I liked the way your poem flows when said out loud.

Now for the content of your words.
There is a fine line between love and hate.
Life is way too short, being alone would be better than with someone who makes us so unhappy.

Wonderful meter and rhyme, as I have come to expect from you. This is so sad. Life is short, and should be filled with people who love us. Sigh.
