Take these words--they are not mine--
just symbols that were taught to me.
The moment you began to read--
they belonged to you.

Proceed.

I had a language once my own.
It wasn't I who felt the need
to seek a commonality
but there is wisdom in the eyes
of the innocent--
a knowledge giving fire to greed--
so we teach the child to speak
and place the seeds vicarious
in the hopes that this one might
become the things we failed to be.

Concede.

All that we attempt is thus--
even this small offering.
A microbe of a piece of heart
DNA's unraveling
and art is just simplicity
that leaves some room for some to say--
"There--that line is just like me"
and oh, the pulse pound rapidly
at the thought of family--
kin to what we think is true.
It does not matter what I mean--

I'll bleed.

Since that is what you think you need...

Karen...this is no 'small' offering, nor is
it merely a 'microbe of a piece of heart'.

This IS your heart...and, even through the pain, it is beautiful.

I love you, lady.

With my gratitude, I thank you.

and Mark? Thanks for dropping in.

I know I don't reply much to your work, but it is not intended as a slight. I'm just honestly baffled by this ability you have to say so much in "twenty or less".

If I may quote m'self?

"and art is just simplicity
that leaves some room for some to say--
"There--that line is just like me"

You are a master of that. (I just thought it was time I let you know that I thought that.)

Thanks again, good people.

with love,

I'm gonna go get a beer now. *burp*

Pardon the vulgarity?

Where on earth does this come from?  I wish I could get inside your head for only an hour, that would fill me up for one year of ideas I am sure.  Such pain in this one, and yet - I see a spark of hope in the awakening. Don't forget you got two apples aren't exactly falling far from that tree there.

gawwwd I love that verse...
You have an exceptional gift of turning words into poetry...
that you gift them to us is the real reason for poetry.

Karen,
And in the crimson still the eternal flame of hope. I'm with Sharon. But I'm not sure I could afford the tour. You have no idea how happy I am that you are here sweet girl!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

OH YOU...

You just made me so happy.

Please stay well, and get healthy and strong again.

You have always and remain and inspiration to me.

And nope, a hug won't do.

Thank you
