Tap Tap Tap

Soft on styrofoam; like missed claps
are her hands.

He finds her out in the open
Cappuccino?
His eyes rest on the pre-disposed waste.
Now residing in its useful place in time.

“Yup.  The oversweet gas-station kind.”
Her life has become absent-minded.

You barely touched it.
An obvious conclusion.

“Yeah.  I got busy.  It got cold… story of my life.”

A bitter statement
and yet his search has reached her face
and he can’t help but notice
..you’re still smiling?

“My smile’s not a good gage.”

I don't think you're going to have any trouble
keeping readers, and marking them "Faithful",

Sunshine and Cpat - Thank you so much!  It means a lot coming from two writers that I greatly admire here.
