To Your Star The sun's lowered it's head to the end of it's day Giving nighttime it's chance to present it's view That first star caught my eye with magnitudes of feeling And, all I could think was to be there with you... So, I lowered my head much like the sun had done Simply dined with emptiness just a bit more And, raising my hand to your star in the name of grief I found each night's longer then the one before... I'm still falling hopelessly down in my minds yesterday Reaching to your star for that familiar lift I extend my arm but I just can't seem to touch So, understand if I bathe in the memories you left me with... I don't have the heart to take the moon for granted For, I'm in love with the sky that brought you here I may bow down to this scene for it's beauty seen But, I can't swear you'll never witness my tears... I'll just reside out here where I can't help but look up Perhaps I'll crawl to unforgettableness pace Helplessly stare at you from dusk's point of view Here in the heavens spotlight face to face... I'll ask that the mighty lender covers me from wild winds A cloudless night that I may find you again Through our distance just take me to where you are And, together walk down that highway of stars...
