A glow of gold shimmers over the water
As the sun says farewell for the night
Seagulls dip and sway on breath of breeze
Ballet performance in the soft fade of light
Sand slips from shore, obeying waves beckon
Delicate shell comes to rest at my feet
Moonrise peeks shyly along the horizon
A falling star’s a celestial treat.
Here in the vast stillness of ocean and sky
You feel so close, I reach for your hand
My eyes drift shut, your face is before me
Fingers feel squeeze, I know you understand.

The sea is often a place where hearts can meet, although distance is far, somehow the ocean and the sky bring nearness to two seperate pairs of feet.

Alliterations...assonance...cadence...and
exquisite imagery that allows me to breathe...
YEP... the moth is taking this one...
(you wrote it for me, right?)
It mine mine mine...and I aint sharing it LOL

thank you for taking the moth to the beach...
I sure needed this lovely respite of waved reverie.

Beautiful write of surf and soul poetess Ruth

Its been a million years since I touched you
I was hoping time would help me win this game,
but being away from you is slowly driving me insane.

Dang, I don't have a beach handy.

(Ya know, I think it's all in the wave action . . .)

Laura this is good, one of your best yet, your imagery so strong...been gropig for a word, and I think it would be "compelling"... Yes, compelling imagery, just pulls the reader in and won't let 'em go until the last dot.

Definitely a keeper....checking library box NOW.....
