Alone in the ever clear
Sometimes the thoughts disappear
Yet other times, such as today
They come my way
Reappear to once more
Cut to the core
And through the smoke…I see you

Always to appear in song
Seems just yesterday I was gone
Yet today, I wonder somehow
For crying out loud
If any of this ever really mattered?
Once more through the haze
Look upon yesterdays…and I see you

Yes my Dear, talk is cheap
Through the years, blood will seep
And the tears, too many to mention
Found the attention, shades of gray
To my dismay, days like these
Often tease, promises of yesterday today
And through life’s haze, once again…I see you

God has his reasons
This I am sure, seems not to be a cure
Forgone conclusions will allow love to parish
That once was cherished
And the day once thought would ever last
Will slowly like the sun go down to past
And the night shall fall when I must…once again…need you
