Toasted Jam

he looked
a little toasty
she seedy
strawberry jam
smooth and
easily spread
over taking dry
fixing burnt up
morning dreams
slicing off edges
making ugly
beautiful again

When I was very young, the toast I ate was usually the burnt toast no one else wanted.  I learned to like it that way and eat burnt toast to this day.  My favorite is with jam.

Thanks for sharing.

The visual of a "toasted" man was just fabulous.

Enjoyed.
