silent
sacred
solitude
the mother
cushions
soles of feet--
I enter under canopy
I enter blood's divinity
there the snake becomes the wheel
swallow tail's eternity
ouroboros is calling me
deep into the mother's womb.

Patterns
pulsing
pointedly
the father
is a lantern's light
dappling
in black and white
giving vein to leaves of tree--
the wind in shake of tambourine
branches quake in giggling
like geisha blushing behind fan...

There--I spy a shape of leaf--
I stoop to take just what I need
here, there is no need of greed--
I leave the plant and it re-seeds
to feed another's traveling.

I pick the berries black and wild--
smiling when the bite weeps red
juices on me reconcile
bleeding proof that I am wed.
Bloodstains on the marriage bed
witness union of divine--
water changed into the wine
watch me stumble in the wood
tripping over oaken root--
I have found the centered sky.

Well, you already knew that I'd love this part...

"there the snake becomes the wheel
swallow tail's eternity
ouroboros is calling me
deep into the mother's womb."

and this...

"giving vein to leaves of tree--
the wind in shake of tambourine
branches quake in giggling
like geisha blushing behind fan..."

and then this...

"I pick the berries black and wild--
smiling when the bite weeps red
juices on me reconcile
bleeding proof that I am wed.
Bloodstains on the marriage bed
witness union of divine--
water changed into the wine
watch me stumble in the wood
tripping over oaken root--
I have found the centered sky."

You are just too cool.
You never cease to amaze me, Karen...
and this?...is amazing.

Smiling big here...

Love you, witchyone.

Serenity...As always your style and skill leaves a lasting impression with me.
It's about time to get that book of yours published. With poems like this one it is sure to be a best seller.
Title it " Poems and other spells of New Orleans" Naturally you would have to have a Witch on the cover.
Take Care...Paul

K - this entire write intrigued me
but this one part I FELT

the mother
cushions
soles of feet--

I saw barefoot - pine needles
white skin stepping - no treading -
beneath a canopy - a breathing canopy . . .
and it made me feel at peace

and your last stanza -
is just absolute perfection
in its raw power and reality

I have much to learn . . .
but I have good teachers

This is sacred

My goodness what a beautiful piece of writing this was ...

giving vein to leaves of tree--
the wind in shake of tambourine
branches quake in giggling
like geisha blushing behind fan...

and this ...

There--I spy a shape of leaf--
I stoop to take just what I need
here, there is no need of greed--
I leave the plant and it re-seeds
to feed another's traveling.

A considerate witch that is for sure

Oh loving this...more?
