Bridge of Broken Trust

In the beginning
a bridge built
on strong ties of love
will capture the qualities
of
friendship, compassion, patience
and
the all encompassing tie of trust.
As long as trust remains,
nothing will drown the faith of love
in the turbulent waters of life.
A bridge with a solid foundation,
with cured beams of seasoned wood,
will weather the storms
that will cross your path
leading to your life's destiny.
The storm of illness,
death in families,
your income lost
and
even your faith
may be put in peril of destruction.
So many trials in a lifetime.
If your
bridge of love is built
on a strong foundation it will last.
But!
A bridge made on a mound of sand
will crumble and fall.
Words holding no truth,
saying one thing,
but doing another.
Saying, “I Love You,”
then going to another
who is hidden in the shadows of deceit.
Like a bridge,
a cord of wood starting to rot,
so does mistrust grow.
As you go through life
be careful of what you choose
and
build your bridge of unbroken trust
and
everlasting love.

There is so much truth in this poem, Bonnie.
I really enjoyed reading it.

I loved as never before...and that love still embraces me...but I could never love him like that again...as the last action, was and always will be my last memory...trust broken can never be repaired.
