Some days I feel full
Of anger
And frustration

For what isn’t
And what is
For nothing and everything

I have gotten good
At shutting out the world
Punishment for misbehavior

I see Monet
And wonder
If he lived in painting

I hear Bach
And surmise
that notes where family

I read Freud
And realize the irony
Of sickness in diagnosis

I want to stop
Screaming with no voice
Clawing for clarity

Stop
The rape of a heart
That used to beat
With hope for what surely would be

We all need to hit a re-set button from time to time.

Awareness, like truth, does not really set us free.

At least you wrote a good poem!

For every time you claw your way to normalcy, and that's what it is...it's a trek to finding normalcy. For every try, you are getting closer. Don't ever give up, because the end results is a stronger you with a deeper appreciation for the simpler things, and the knowing you had more strength than you thought you did!!  You overcame, and the prize is you know you were that person you always knew you were, and you were stronger than you ever thought possible.  Loved this. This brought it all home for me. Thanks for that!!

Shara,

Thank you so much.  Everything you say is true. Just some days it's harder to see the rainbow through the rain, than other days.

Susan - God, you are brilliant -
I would love to write with you someday
my pen, no match for your own
I adore your writing . . .
