Here I sit again, just as lonely before
I honestly don't think I can take much more
My heart bleeds all over the page, yes once again
Things really haven't changed much since then

I try to explain how I feel, but fear no one understands
Still though of myself more I continue to demand
What more can I do, other than to never again lie
I let go of the old me, finally I've said goodbye

I can feel the tears, they are welling up in my eyes
I hear the heaviness of my breathing, that old familiar sigh
I know it's only a matter of time, when the tears will fall
My heart feels so lost, to my soul it does call

I just let myself release everything I hold inside
No longer can I pretend, No more can I hide
I cry like a baby, the sobs only I can hear
Racked with this feeling inside of me, consumed with fear

I slide down the wall I'm standing by
Sitting on the ground, I just continue to cry
I feel that familiar pain, but it's almost a friend
Please don't let this be how it's all going to end

People tell me it will be okay, but they aren't inside of me
What I wouldn't give just for a single day to feel completely free
Slowly I get back up, determined to try and smile
I walk outside in the sunsine, and I feel better for a while

So heart-wrenching. That feeling of hopelessness..reaching for something, and not quite being able to grab that one thing that can free. Also feeling helpless to change. Not an easy thing to go through. I hope things go well for you, soon. Sending a

It's good to see you posting, Amy...I've missed your writing.  There is much emotion and sadness in this poem, also strength.

Aimster, this is so sad. And, this line says
a whole lot. Sometimes people think they're
helping when they don't realize the extint of
the sadness. Hope you feel better soon.

A vividly painstaking read. Very emotional, excellent write in my opinion. Funny, u have the same name as my ex, only in her case, she brought the pain lol!

This reminds me of a time in my life, and it was a period of duration, when I had to go on even though my life was a mess...I just had to go on and do the best that I could...it builds a certain strength...and we tend to leave the junk behind and eventually we see a new beginning...a new purpose...a new direction...hope good things happen for you...try to look for the good...any little thing...don't focus on what you don't have...focus on what you do have...James

Awww Amy, I don't know what's inside of you but I know what's inside of me and I've been feeling just like this lately. It was a pretty rough time for me. Cry whenever ya feel like it and let it all out. It's all ok in time. Trust me. And smile.

Thank you all for your concern and
understanding. Your replies warmed
my heart this morning. For any of you
who know me well, know that I normally
don't portray this much sadness. I assure
you there is no cause for alarm or anything.
I just needed to get all of this out. I am
going through a difficult time, if any of you have time to go into the Feelings forum,
that will explain more. I will be okay though, thank you all for your encouragement.

Take care.

Aimster,

This is a poignant write that touched my heart...I hope writing this was good medicine for you.  I know when I am drowning in tears which never reach my eyes...I find comfort in my pen.

You expressed your emotions so well in this verse...
