No guarantees....no promises....

Oh this muse, this tiny muse
of haggard look and wavering walk.
Perched atop this world of mine,
might perhaps it come...to talk.

Muse I say,   my cherished friend
thee hath giveth me most grand
most gracious of thought.

Fail me not my weathered friend...
Carry me tall in tremor’s walk.

Grace my pen, my worn soft quill,
give me strength, bless with will.
Take not away my heart in beat,
muse...my friend....tis not retreat.

I am but a withered soul, a man of
heart and hurt.    I listen well the
dreaded toll, the belfry high upon
the church.

Stall not the quill, dry not the well,
let words once more the ear befell.
Give but one wish this withered hand...
The freedom to.......

To write again,   again,   again....

Freedoms are so costly...
I hope this post means you're back...

although perhaps the time is brief?

Write on...

Barry, I prayed you wouldn't leave us forever! Prayers do get answered! As you know, you are one of my absolute favorite poets here at Passions.

Is there anything that I could do to convince your illustrious muse to "Stall not the quill, dry not the well"?--(btw, that was a neat line!--I should use it on my own muse! )

Loves 'n hugs,
Linda

A warm welcome to you my friend.
Great idea to call the muse, and lay the heavy heart into the ink.
Be well, and remember the charge of together, for poets inspire each other.

This must echo in the minds of many a poet. Maybe it's a time to replenish even when you don't know you need replenishing. :? Who knows.

A one day belated birthday gift!  Yes, Yes, Yes!  Please stay now!  If you cannot, I will understand, but oh you did this piece so well.  I read it aloud...I am going back to do it again!  Smiling, so smiling at you!

And after I told a friend yesterday afternoon how much I missed you.  He didn't understand...that's OK.  I am just so glad to see you, Barry!

Magnus, I am glad to see you here even if you are just trying to stay. Is the reason you were thinking of leaving? If it is please don't worry about it! I don't write very often myself--if you look at my profile, I have been here since February of 2002 and in a year and a half, I only have 57 originating posts, and not all of those are poems. Even when I'm not writing I still come in to read what everyone else is writing and hang out in the discussion forums and stuff. And when I do write something, then I post it. No worries, it's all good! Hope all's well with you and that you get your issues straightened out.

"To write again,   again,   again...."

That is the will of the true poet..
now...sit down, relax and tell me...
I shall be treated to many more sighs.
