Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2003-07-21 02:19 PM

I can see you
You don't think I can
But I can see out of this mirror
And watch you watching me
For the answers to your life
From where I stand
You are forgetting yourself
And ignoring those around you
Who want nothing more than to help
One they see has the potential to be great
It is you who views yourself
Too narrowly for your own good
The future is there for you to take
But you cannot do it alone
That dishonors all whom you touch
You are tired from the fight
So it's time to think of yourself
Find the larger view
And do what's best
For the man I stare back at
Everyday

We see the light of those
Who find the world has passed them by
Too late to save a dream from growing cold...

Brad:

You are forgetting yourself
And ignoring those around you
Who want nothing more than to help

God, why do we do this?
I know . . . I know

This is great in the visuals of the introspection in the mirror. I like thinking like this too. I only have one question, where does the title come from?

Gemma- Coming from you, the words mean alot. I am constantly enjoying your writes, even if I don't always comment on them... and maybe I DID mean lager!!!!  lol

Sue- Why? Because we like you... M-O-U-S-EEEEEEEE... uh... oops!!! sorry.
Thanks for reading my scribbles.

PK- the Queen of Spades is one of the 72 cards in a tarot deck. The write is the basic meaning of the card.

Ethyl- Thank you very kindly for your kindness. I am glad you enjoyed this write.

We see the light of those
Who find the world has passed them by
Too late to save a dream from growing cold...
