decisions stemmed from helplessness

you run from death and run from life
you've spent your life running away,
but in the breath left to lite
are you the one to let it stay,
and dwell until it rots,
until it cries and breaks away,
this body left inside of you
that you have helped decay
you drink and binge
and shoot and cringe, in the darkness of your days,
this child that you have helped create
this one you're throwing away
but in the end he was just a friend
so why ask it to stay
so you kill yourself and the one inside
because you're still too young and have no money to pay
i hope you're happy i hope you're happy
but you don't know what its like to say
no please don't do this to me
just let me go away
i promise we can do this again
but then more firmly he asks you to stay
you beg and plead and soon on your knees and no matter what you say
he still hit me in the back of the head
and left me in that hell for dead
and now i'm left with nothing and no one for the rest of my days
but if i can just keep this a mystery maybe i can go on without decay
i no its wrong but the pain of life will kill us both if it stays
so i've made my mind and my decision is this
if i'm alone i can live on until i'm ready to say
i want a life other than my own to wake me everyday
to love more than anything and to here the first words it'll say
yes....yes i do want this, but not now,
and not today
