I weed the weeds and choose them not,
let heat employ me to distill.
Removing one by one, their sources
emptying their seeds that spill.

Stubborn are their rooted systems
poised among the beauty's tint.
Multiplied by hundreds, spreading,
breeding thistles wished extinct.

Searching 'mong the clovers cover
none forthcoming numbered four.
The trailing vines are choking, twining
stemmed to weed out blooms decor.

And here I am in sunshine's dressing
flushed in color, nourished sweet.
Surrounded by the fragrant blossoms,
contented in my own retreat.

When we can find peace
among the bindweed...
we too become rooted

Hey Lori, after  almost 3 hours weeding my street yes they grow there too, I don't need to be hosed, I am already dripping wet...yes hot and humid..but I am ready for a soaking in the tub otherwise I am splattered in street muck where it seems that everything grows where it shouldn't.

Thanks Bernie, Chris, Soleil and Nancy..it was a hard days work with a feeling of accomplishment and I am sure I will feel it later.

Wanna come and weed my place? I mean, since you're so good at it and all ... You are also good at writing about it too.

Hey Dorene, I would  but "I haven't begun to fight"  the rest of them yet

I came home last night, luckily I might add, since my fuel line ended up with leaks or broke or whatever they want to call it, losing half my tank of gas and I could barely breathe coming home even with the windows down...was told it was a good thing I didn't smoke. Got it fixed though...love those local small town repair shops.
