I'm finding my voice
I'm finding my self
I have brief periods
of excitement for the future
and what is coming.
I always revert back to
my pain and hurt
but these brief periods
of happiness and excitement
are coming more frequently
    and more readily.
And yes, I still listen to
moody songs and drift
through my memories
but now I also drift
through my feelings;
today as I drift I see
that the hurt is a little less...
and the feeling of
    FREEDOM
is just a
little
      bit
         stronger
than it was yesterday

Rhonda, i truly do believe we're going through these motions at exactly the same time. you've penned how it is exactly. the constant sift thru memories day after day, but you escape every now and then, with the sane thoughts, of why would i want to settle for someone who doesn't reeeeaaalllly want me.

and even if the hope is fleeting, it is coming thicker and faster all the time.

good on ya gal...gem xxx

A lady coming into her own!  How I love to see this, and this particular write is so very uplifting.  I think it will be read by many women who need that extra little bit of encouragement to find themselves, and really live the way they want to, with freedom to be whom they want to be.  Excellent writing, excellent feelings!!!!!!  Bravo to you!!!!

I haven't really been reading much lately, but figured I would check out the boards today, and I must say that I am very glad that I did. With everything that you have gone through in the recent past, to see this work of hope, and happiness (almost) surely makes this poor old heart smile.
Welcome back to you.

Skyfire ~

You go girl! That was one hellova survivor's poem! Very well expressed--and will undoubtedly strike many a similar chord in your readers hearts--of that I am certain!

Lovin' hugs,

Thank you all of you for your kind replies. It's kind of a different feeling for me to be positive about things, but it seems so far to be working for me lol
