Whirl of Wind

a 'stream of consciousness',
she said
just spill it...
write of anything
and everything
yet think of nothing in between
lest thoughts should clutter
verse in flutter
on the wing of butterfly
and now he cries...
those caterpillar tears
unspoken fears
of taking wing
his time to sing
as flowered masses gather 'round
to hear the sound of flutter...
in gentle mutter
of the wind in sigh...
and then I spy
a leaf in fall on dizzy breeze
drift through the trees
aimlessly...
nowhere to go
nowhere to be
spinning free
on wispy air
as ribbon fallen
from the hair
in gentle twirl
of finger's curl
in constant whirl of wind
a dream unfurled
no more a dream...reality
a heart has found serenity
and wayward leaf
is come to rest
upon the chest of Mother Earth
who knows its worth
and that of butterfly
who flutters by
on wing of gratitude...

and smiles

~vlraynes

Thank you, Karen...again.

Ah yes...This is good stuff!!  I like this whole bunches..This is a poet's soul at its best pouring out...

some great lines in this one...among them:

"spinning free
on wispy air
as ribbon fallen
from the hair
in gentle twirl
of finger's curl
in constant whirl of wind
a dream unfurled"

much enjoyed the flow..

Vicky, Vicky, Vicky... this one's my favourite.  You are the queen of iambic, ya know?  Haha... this one flowed so wonderfully and the fact that you had such a disordered line size really gave it that free-like-the-wind sort of feeling.  This is a great example of poetry whose format is consistent with its subject matter.  I'm really impressed...

Adding it to my library as one of the best I have read from you, Vick... or from anyone for that matter.  Awesome work...
