I have been living every second of everyday
Desperate
Each waking hour and each hour I lie asleep
Desperate

Stumbling streets at all hours of the morning
Going to sleep in a doorstep as the sun rose
So many short winter days sleeping through the sun

Quite voices saying I am now unsavory
Realizing myself that they now tell the truth
Lieing like a rug when everyone wipes their feet

Acted the art of my soul to a sit-com crowd
Fell down on stage crying just after the first act
Gave up trying to be nice and to be civil

Tasted the wine of defeat every day for months
And bitter tastes remain in my mouth to this day
Sweet memories left to rot out in the heat

Prayed to Jesus, Buddah, nature and still nothing
waiting for rides that never came, phones that never rang
Growing up fast then kind of leveling out

Running away from home to the cold city streets
Ignoring, never calling, never stopping by
Reading the words on my soul and wanting to cry

I can write you poetry that'll make a strong man lose his mind:
I ain't no pig
Without a wig
I hope you treat me kind
-Bob Dylan
