on this night

on this night
when the clouds run high above the trees
and the moon swings slow upon its arc
and in the gulf of space
the silent stars run a silent race

I will move in breath upon your face
and on your neck to the nape
and on your arms
and on your hands I will kiss
each finger tip.

And through a window you will watch
as on a mountain top
all the life below that comes and goes
a countless brood in motion chained
as you sit upon your rock.

And you will fly with wings
across the night sky and sing
in elemental tones and tongueless bells.

And you will hear the song of stars
the rush of space, the solar wind
all in that one place where time stops

and you will awake, and know
that I have held your hand

and not let go.

ANNOUNCING! my novel COOL UNIVERSE is now posted

i like this one. especially those 'gulf of space' lines. reminds me of camping out under stars, and seing the odd shootin star.
some stars never race fair.
