Come dark nights and hide my face away,
An empty face without smiles or tears
That can only squint into the bright of day
And walk the depths of night without fears,
For what foul can befall me in dark
When no coins jingle in my pocket,
And the loving touch is so stark
That even their eyes now forget.
I stand till I fall in shadows place
Battered by a brief summer rain
Closest I come to tears on my face
Despite the constant friend of pain
That keeps me moving and awake,
Yet I roam not in any anger
But go through shadows for shadows sake
Unable to feed my devouring hunger
For a touch of a gentle and kind hand
Soft words by someone I can call friend
A roost in this desolate dark land
So this ever wandering can end.

Gloom

Thank you, gemjop,
I have been wandering far a field,
And it was over the Holiday, I tend to take a trip in the bright of summer,
But always returning to the dark places I dwell.

I am pleased you enjoyed this

Hello Gloomy gloom, I loved the darknes of this my friend. Great visions, it gave me

I said I'm going to buy a gun and start a war,
If you can tell me something worth fighting for

well, next trip, come on down and lay in the sand and bask in the sun...you may not want to go back to darkness

Thank you, Wind
I hope the visions were acceptable
Or at least as good as the ceiling.

Thank you, Passing Shadows,
A nice suggestion for next years excursion into the sun,
But my pale skin only burns and basking become a red pain.
I will always tend toward the darkness and shadows,
But even in sunny Florida, there’s night life.
Glad you took the time to respond

for shadows sake. Sigh. Lovely and sad and lonesome.
