The conductor

No breath, no rustle, no sound
while you stood in silent prayer.
The whole theatre in anticipation
waiting for you to raise your arms
to call forth the magical tunes.
Your eyes embracing the stage.

….searching and meeting mine
for just a fleeting moment…

I felt my heart on highest alert
ready to join the orchestra,
a soft drum playing underneath
the melody perceived by all.
You touched the chords of my soul
conducting me into a major role.

….furtive glances joining
and dancing over the place…

You, surrendering to the flow
of the music filling you entirely,
calling forth every single tone
to harmonize in divine perfection
with the voices from Angels
stopping everyone’s breath.

….a flash of light bouncing
through darkness crashing into me ..

In a crescendo of deep emotion
you held the world under your spell.
On the majestic waves of sound,
in absolute synchrony, our hearts
pierced the ceiling to touch the sky
twirling in magic and ecstasy.

…. awakening and plunging into
a waterfall of thunderous applause …

The standing ovation for you
found me still immersed in awe,
aware of the mystery of it all.
This cherished secret Love of ours
had made the performance divine
forever to shine in this heart of mine.

Love, Margherita

Lucky you, not everyone gets the chance to play a leading role.  You had me sitting front row and center, while standing on my seat, applauding you Margherita.  You're so right on the mark, some things we will never forget.  I'm so glad it came to you today, your poem does indeed, read like a symphony!

Margherita...You have stepped into a wonderful poet's shoes, for a moment.  I place this up "there" with Balladeer's poem of an opera singer...it took me into that world, and it kept me there....and you, my friend, should be very proud of this poem.  It...sings!

Very nice... I really felt the emotion...

I’ve loved; I’ve lost,
yet I yearn to love again.
Lord please grant me the strength,
and show me where to begin.

I have been to a couple of concerts that held me spellbound. Leaning forward, holding my breath. Oh! The beauty.
