Darkness looms beyond the light
of a struggling heart, as unknown
messengers cast a shadow of fear
upon the wandering mind.

What shield does the messenger
carry to battle the sin of man?
As chains drag the dry of earth
in dusty clouds of shuffling
doom.

Where the trials of one man
are cast away, yet thrown
relentlessly back into the
tearful face.

Barry, you expressed my feelings here perfectly.  My wandering mind haults when the shadow is present... then I struggle.

This is excellent writing, Barry.

Frightful thoughts that cause one to think.  For me what I fear most is the unknown.

The gift to paint a picture of the wound is a treasure to behold.  Somehow it lifts from the shoulder, and suspends in the higher atmosphere. TD

May the light of the heavens cast away the darkness of your horizons...

So ominous, foreboding.
After reading your notice about leaving us soon, I am wondering, are you OK? Are you having surgery? God, I hope you are allright Barry.
