While turning mellowed pages of Rubaiyat
A parched rose fell on the ground.
Suddenly a flood of emotions swayed my heart.
Memories of past haunted my mind.
Those long hours of solitude and intimacy
With your hands in mine
That we never spent together.
Those smiles of yours with dimples on your cheek
That was never for me.
Those large eyes of yours
With which you never
Gave me a skewed glance.
Your long black hairs
Which you never cast as clouds over me.
Your gentle voice like a song of nightingale
Going on endlessly forever
That I have never heard.
Your rosy lips with which
You never kissed me.
That rose which I desperately desired to put
In your long black hairs
But could not.

Sounds painful, however it would have turned out...unless you chose a thornless rose....
