Stew-born, this waft of culinary breeze.
Permeating all that dare touch the spoon
for a sip, a treasured slurp in hidden
taste.

Bubbling merrily as strips of brown beef
hug the pale of potatoes and the bright
of orange, the green of greenery and
the red tomato’s ripened lustre.

Stirred slowly into the blackened iron
of simmer till....

A hurried bowl’s clink against the
giant spoon of ladle, the crush of
crackers in a tumultuous fall before
the sprinkle of pepper’s black lace.

Mulligan, the wee man....would be
most proud to sneak the slurp before
the deluge drowns the crumb...But,
no....for this prize must be savored
only after the simmer has become
a textured treat tantalizing to most
any tongue.....as the cool breeze of
lips blow the heated spoon into the
next slurp of secret savor....

Until....the bubbles are quashed by
time’s cool, before the drool and
moan of quivering lips in wait...
of yet another secret slurp...

Oh! Now look what you did. Now I'm hungry.
Guess I'll go have breakfast or lunch.I guess it's called brunch.
Good one.

Thanx Margherita,  (passing the spoon)...
don't let it burn your taste buds...

Dixie,  dear girl,  I doubt seriously that
you will get fat in this life time....
Nope,  won't happen...  Thanx

Barry, I could almost taste that stew, and it looks just about like it's going to rain. I do have some biscuits cooked...can you and Sea pass me a bowl, please? I love stew on rainy days, too.

I am dieting again...I think this one is calorie-free, carbohydrate-free, sugar-free, fat-free...but nonetheless very filling and delicious.  Now what is for desert?  I guess I will have take a gander at PIP's buffet table, huh?  LOL

Your images are spectacular, Barry.

Barry, how timely! Yesterday I ate two huge bowls of savory stew--perhaps I should not eat anything today! Stew is one of my favorite dishes to prepare--and eat! Yum! Yum! In the tum-tum! Wonderful poem!!!
