I find, sometime, that I just tend to need a friend.
To sit with me awhile, some quiet moments spend...
So I can reminisce awhile, relive some bygone days,
Or maybe sing a verse of "I Love You a Thousand Ways".

Sometime I like to sit and look at photographs,
Of friends, and family, a life that long has passed,
And talk about the life I lived, the way I used to be...
A history of past mistakes, that serve to make me..Me.

I've been accused of bragging of the things I've done,
Making wrong sound like it is a lot of fun.
I must confess I've been a fool, or I'd be lying,
Sometime a man just has to laugh, to keep from crying.

I write about the days I spent out on the range-
Living hard, while friends all prayed that I would change.
The only way that I can cope, And face reality-
Is write my heart, and hope that you will spend some time with me.

John:

this is beautiful and yes I do spend much too much time looking at pictures . . .
but they hold so many dear memories

this line:

Sometime a man just has to laugh, to keep from crying.

Amen to that
I loved this

As for me, friend, I am always eager to read your tales 'out on the range'. That is what makes you, You.

Thanks,
Melton

John, my time is your time...how could anyone refuse such a heartfelt request?
