Sucker Fish

He's still behind, this plain green fish;
the algae's clouding up the glass.
He works across again, the horseshoe
mouth writes small transparent marks,
the letters of an endless, wordless
message on the planes of his square world.
The other crossings, other angles, random
curves and traces follow food that's growing,
growing, every line a derivation of another
line, a further line, of lines to come, to fade
to green, recross and cross again like leaves
on fallen leaves. They're getting bigger as
he grows to fit the space; the letters merge
to equilibrium, this world not fully clear but
never quite so cloudy as it might have been,
had he not scrawled these mindless
lines of clarity across the glass.

Ed...The murky waters of life are made clearer in many ways, even for a fish.  I really like this!

Mere moments of clarity make all the muddling through murkiness worthwhile. *S* I like this very much, sir! *S*

Yes, Ed.......even though situations of life may still not be completely clear, cleaning away some of the cloudiness sure does help, doean't it?

Amen to that, GG.... it definitely can help, and many of yours do help, because you have such clear vision.

Even the endless "poem" written by my little green fish. Other fish in that tank, but Algae Eater's mine because he speaks to me.

Hi, Suthern, gooda seeya! ....and speaking of poetry, when.....?  .....Hmmmmmm?

Ed,

There's something fishy about this poem, but I can place it.  Perhaps it's transparent, but I'm so clouded by this growth on my walls that I missed it.  Isnt there a tool they sell for this?

I see very deep meaning in this. Wow, what a great poem.

My plecostamus is weary
He's hard as a rock from the sea
He's lately been very dizzy
My cichlids won't let him be.

The algae lines across the glass
Are crooked-uneven and few
He's two feet long in a very large tank
Eats algae of green but seems so blue.
